MLS NEXT

Elk Grove Soccer’s MLS NEXT program provides a professional, high-performance environment for ambitious players who aspire to compete at the highest levels of youth soccer. As the premier platform for elite player development in North America, MLS NEXT challenges players through top-level training, meaningful competition, and a proven pathway to collegiate, professional, and national team opportunities.

  • Three to four team training sessions each week led by Elk Grove Soccer’s Technical Staff
  • Position-specific and individual player development opportunities throughout the season
  • Age-appropriate strength, speed, agility, and injury prevention training

  • Competition in the MLS NEXT league against the nation’s top academies
  • Participation in MLS NEXT Fest, Flex, and other league showcase events (age group dependent)
  • League schedules, event information, and team calendars available through PlayMetrics and the MLS NEXT platform

Goalkeeping

  • Three goalkeeper-specific training sessions each week in addition to regular team training
  • Position-specific curriculum delivered by Elk Grove Soccer’s Goalkeeper Coaching Staff
  • Ongoing individual evaluations and development plans throughout the season
  • Match analysis and personalized feedback to support continued growth and performance
  • Technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development tailored to the modern goalkeeper
  • Integration with team training to maximize game-realistic learning and decision-making
  • Individual mentoring and regular communication between goalkeepers, coaches, and families

MLS NEXT Program fees include professional coaching, Technical Department oversight, league affiliation fees, coaching travel and education, field rental and maintenance, athletic training support, administrative services, and access to Elk Grove Soccer’s comprehensive player development resources.

 

Players joining the program after the start of the seasonal year may be eligible for prorated fees based on their date of acceptance and roster availability. Please contact the MLS NEXT Director for current pricing and program details.

College Commitments

Elk Grove Soccer has a proven history of helping players achieve their collegiate soccer goals. The club has consistently placed players at every level of collegiate soccer—from NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III to NAIA and junior college programs.

 

Under the leadership of Elk Grove Soccer’s Technical Department, more than 200 players have advanced to collegiate soccer, including 23 players from the club’s two most recent graduating classes. In addition, Elk Grove Soccer has developed numerous Youth National Team players and former players who have gone on to sign professional contracts in the United States and abroad.

 

Whether a player’s goal is to compete at the collegiate, professional, or international level, Elk Grove Soccer provides the coaching, competition, guidance, and exposure needed to maximize every player’s opportunities.

MLS League Information

MLS NEXT is the highest level of youth soccer in the United States and Canada, created by Major League Soccer to provide the country’s top young players with the best possible environment for long-term development. The league brings together many of the nation’s premier academies, creating a challenging and meaningful competitive platform for players who aspire to reach the collegiate, professional, and international levels.

Unlike traditional youth leagues that often emphasize short-term results, MLS NEXT is designed around player development. The league promotes high-quality coaching, consistent standards, meaningful competition, and an environment where players are challenged every day to improve technically, tactically, physically, and mentally.

ECNL-RL Girls

The ECNL Regional League (ECNL-RL) provides Elk Grove Soccer players with a nationally recognized, highly competitive platform focused on long-term player development. Designed for ambitious players seeking a challenging environment, ECNL-RL combines high-level coaching, meaningful competition, and a clear pathway for continued growth.

 

Led by Elk Grove Soccer’s experienced Technical Staff, ECNL-RL teams train three times each week within the club’s player development curriculum. Players compete against top clubs throughout Northern California while benefiting from a professional training environment that emphasizes technical excellence, tactical understanding, physical development, and character.

 

ECNL-RL also provides valuable opportunities for players to gain exposure through league competition and showcase events while pursuing collegiate soccer and higher levels of the game. As part of Elk Grove Soccer’s comprehensive player pathway, the ECNL Regional League offers players an outstanding environment to continue their development and reach their full potential.

ECNL-RL Girls League Information

At Elk Grove Soccer, our ECNL-RL program is designed for players who are committed to improving their game while competing against top clubs throughout Northern California and the western region. The program combines high-level coaching, a structured training environment, and participation in league play, showcases, and postseason opportunities, all while maintaining a more manageable travel schedule than many national platforms.

Our focus is on developing technically proficient, tactically intelligent, and resilient players who are prepared for the next step in their soccer journey, whether that is ECNL, collegiate soccer, or beyond.

Platinum Program

The Platinum Program is designed for committed players seeking a high-level competitive experience while maintaining greater flexibility than the club’s MLS NEXT and ECNL-RL programs. Positioned between our top performance pathways and traditional competitive teams, the Platinum Program provides an environment where players continue to develop through quality coaching, challenging competition, and a structured training curriculum without the year-round demands of a full-time elite platform.

 

Led by Elk Grove Soccer’s experienced Technical Staff, Platinum teams emphasize technical development, tactical understanding, and individual growth while competing against strong regional opponents. The program is ideal for players who aspire to continue progressing within the club, pursue high school soccer, and prepare for future opportunities at the collegiate or elite youth levels. Platinum serves as an important step in Elk Grove Soccer’s player pathway, offering the right balance of commitment, competition, and long-term development.

Platinum League Information

The Platinum Program is designed for players who are passionate about developing their skills in a challenging and supportive competitive environment. Competing in one of Northern California’s highest levels of regional competition, Platinum teams provide players with consistent opportunities to test themselves against strong opponents while continuing to build technical ability, tactical understanding, and confidence.

At Elk Grove Soccer, our Platinum Program emphasizes long-term player development through high-quality coaching, purposeful training sessions, and a positive team culture that encourages commitment, accountability, and a love for the game. The program serves as an important step within our player pathway, helping athletes prepare for higher levels of competition while creating an enjoyable and rewarding soccer experience.

The Elite Competitive Program is designed for players who want to take the next step beyond recreational soccer in a fun, challenging, and supportive environment. It offers a higher level of training and competition for players who are passionate about the game, enjoy learning new skills, and want to continue developing without the year-round commitment of Elk Grove Soccer’s MLS NEXT, ECNL Regional League, or Platinum programs.

 

Players are introduced to a more structured training environment where they develop technical skills, tactical awareness, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the game while competing against similarly motivated players from across Northern California. The emphasis is on individual improvement, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fostering a lifelong love of soccer.

 

The Elite Competitive Program also provides players with the opportunity to build lasting friendships, create memorable experiences, and become part of a team environment that encourages personal growth both on and off the field. Whether a player’s goal is to continue competing at a higher level, prepare for future opportunities within Elk Grove Soccer’s player pathway, or simply enjoy the game in a more competitive setting, the Elite Competitive Program offers the perfect balance of development, competition, and fun.

Elite League Information

The Elite Program is designed for players who are looking for a competitive soccer experience with a balanced commitment.

Training twice per week, the program provides a high-quality development environment for players who want to continue improving their technical skills, tactical understanding, and overall enjoyment of the game while balancing school, other sports, or family commitments. Led by experienced Elk Grove Soccer coaches, players participate in purposeful training sessions and competitive league play that encourage confidence, teamwork, and personal growth.

The Elite Program offers an excellent pathway for players who want to develop in a positive, challenging environment without the demands of a higher-commitment program, while still providing opportunities to progress within the Elk Grove Soccer player pathway as they continue to grow and develop.
