37 years and Counting

WELCOME TO FALL RECREATION

To our coaches - Thanks for Volunteering

we appreciate you more than ever

This year will be a different type of experience - allow us to explain

the why

Many asked why we are running a fall recreation season. Our answer is simple and is the same reason we have been running soccer for over 37 years – our players.

During these difficult circumstances, we are still trying our best to serve our soccer families in Elk Grove. We know the lockdown has been difficult on our community and we are trying to do our best to help with the social well-being for our children. Our goal is to keep our soccer families connected, and more importantly, do our best to connect our children by creating a safe environment to play.

We look forward to seeing you back on the fields.

Thanks,

Andrew Donnery
CEO Elk Grove Soccer

the What

Our competitive program, after a mini hiatus, began training in June under slight modifications created by our staff, and under guidance of CSD and the county. We created socially-distanced and safe practice measures as well as practice plans which are provided to all the coaches. The players are able to play various games and contests within the practice plan.

Our fall recreation program will follow a similar type of program but is specifically designed for our recreation players. We anticipate games may not look like your typical historical soccer games. We have created fun competitions that can take place between players while staying within the local and state guidelines for social distancing. The games will give players the ability to advance their soccer skills without contact. Watch for videos and training to learn how this will work.  The bottom line is that we want to give children the ability to be outside and play in a safe and healthy environment with their friends.

the How

We have listened to your feedback and with your help, and due to the current situation we find ourselves in, we have designed a program that is a little different than previous years. We have formulated the following plans to meet the needs of our recreation families for this fall.

Option 1 – Team Development : This option allows the coach to get their team together and allow their players to experience some sort of normalcy. This allows the players to get out of the house and see their friends in a social safe environment.

Option 2 – Group Development : This option allows our players to be placed in a group with similar level players with oversight by one of our volunteers/AGC’s. This allows the players to get out of the house and meet new friends in a social safe environment.

Option 3 – Professional Development : This option allows our players to be placed in a group with similar level players with oversight by our full time staff. This allows the players to get out of the house and meet new friends in a social safe environment.

STEP 1

Development Options

The club will work with our fall recreation soccer families and devise the most suitable development option for them. Our staff are in the process of getting your equipment ready. This year will be slightly different as we have certain limitations to consider when it comes to equipment. This year we will give you flags and cones. Each player will need to bring their own ball. Uniform equipment will be available for pickup at the office the week of Aug 3. Check back shortly for information how to sign up for pickup.

Practice schedule

This year we have a new and exciting way of allowing you to choose your fields and sign up for a practice field. Information and the link will be posted here shortly.

In addition to regular practice sessions, we have created fun competitions that can take place between players while staying within the local and state guidelines for social distancing. August 9, 2020 for Fall Recreation. We have extended the date this year.

The coach should talk with the parents about the current guidelines that must be adhered to or their player will not be permitted to play. Notify league, AGC and the AGC will send a note to the family stating they are removed from the club. Obviously, the safety of all children is first.

The player must go through the isolation outlined in the COVID-19 Guideline.  If they follow the guidelines and outline they may be able to return.  Please click here for our Payment Policy.

Yes there is, please see the 3 step protocol for safer practice outlined in the COVID-19 Guideline.

COVID-19 Phase

Please continue to check the website as this may change.

In 1997, President Bill Clinton signed into law the federal Volunteer Protection Act (VPA). The purpose of the VPA was to provide immunity from tort claims and encourage volunteerism. The VPA provides protection to “volunteers for a nonprofit organization or government entity; who either (a) receive no compensation (although reasonable reimbursement of expenses incurred is allowed), or (b) do not receive anything of value in lieu of compensation in excess of $500 per year.”

The VPA provides protection to nonprofit and government volunteers if:

  • The volunteer was acting within the scope of his or her responsibility;
  • The volunteer was properly licensed, certified or authorized to engage in the activity or practice;
  • The harm was not caused by willful, criminal or reckless misconduct, gross negligence or conscious, flagrant indifference to the rights or safety of the individual harmed by the volunteer; and
  • The harm was not caused by the operation of a motor vehicle, aircraft, or other vehicle for which an operator’s license or insurance is required by the state.
  • A volunteer who provides services or performs duties on behalf of a nonprofit organization or a volunteer fire department is personally immune from civil liability for any act or omission resulting in damage or injury if at the time of the act or omission, the person was acting within the scope of volunteer duties and the act did not constitute willful or wanton misconduct or gross negligence –  click link for more information

Please understand that you have to follow the organization’s guidelines and policies to be covered – please click for the COVID-19 Guidelines

Elk Grove Soccer Preparedness Task Force has been carefully following the course of the COVID-19 outbreak. We are doing our part to contribute to the preventative measures necessary for public health and wellness. We want to emphasize that, at present, there are no known or suspected cases of COVID-19, nor anyone with symptoms from any of our club members. We created the following guideline – COVID-19 Guidance for Elk Grove Soccer

We created the following guideline – COVID-19 Guidance for Elk Grove Soccer – please see the 4 step process if a family member/friend tests positive for COVID-19.

Currently, we have held the price at $99 due to the current situation. We are trying our best to balance expenses and provide soccer for all.

All Elk Grove Soccer players need a designated Elk Grove Soccer Uniform purchased from our store – click here to purchase

This year, I would wait until a game schedule appears. You only need a uniform for games. However, you can wear your uniform to practice in!
